Our Contributions

We believe that Standards and education provide the framework for the reduction of workplace injuries and contribute greatly to the success of business. Industrial Safety Integration is committed to promoting the standardization of occupational health and safety by participating in the development of standards and educational programs at an international level.

Industrial Safety Integration is currently involved with the following safety committees and communities.

  • Chair - CSA Z1002 - Occupational Injury and Illness Risk Assessment and Management
    This Standard is currently under development. Once published it is intended to provide the framework for injury risk assessment and workplace risk management.
  • Committee Member - CSA Z1001 - Occupational Safety Trainingt
    This Standard is currently under development. Once published it is intended to provide the framework for both the provision and management of occupational health and safety training.
  • Subcommittee Member of ANSI B11.2011 - General Requirements for the Safety of Machine Tools
    This Standard is published. It is intended to provide the framework for the safety requirements of machine tools that are currently covered by the ANSI B11 series of consensus standards.
  • Subcommittee Member of ANSI B11.TR3 - Risk Assessment and Risk Reduction - A Guide to Estimate, Evaluate and Reduce Risks Associated with Machine Tools
    This Standard has been withdrawn
  • Subcommittee Member of ANSI B11.9 - Safety Requirements for Grinding Machines
    This Standard has been published. It is intended to provide guidance regarding the manufacture, care, and use of grinding machines that use bonded abrasive products.
  • Subcommittee Member of ANSI B11.TR6 Safety Control Systems for Machine Tools
    This Technical Report is currently under development. It is intended to provide guidance in understanding and implementing safety related control functions (functional safety) for machine tools covered by the B11 series of safety standards
  • Observer Member of ANSI/SPI B151.1 Horizontal Injection Molding Machines - Safety Requirements for Manufacture, Care, and Use
    This Standard has recently been published It applies to all Horizontal Injection Molding Machines (HIMM) that process plastic materials and inject those materials into a mold held closed by a horizontally acting clamp.
  • Subcommittee Member of ANSI/SPI B151.29 Vertical Clamp Injection Molding Machines Requirements for Manufacture Care and Use
    This Standard was last published in 2002 and is currently under revision. It applies to all Vertical Clamping Injection Molding Machines (VIMM) that process plastic materials and inject those materials into a mold held closed by a vertically acting clamp.
  • Member of CAC/ISO/TC199 - Safety of Machinery Canadian Advisory Committees for the International Organization for Standardization
    As a member of CAC/ISO/TC199 - Safety of Machinery, Industrial Safety Integration supports the standardization of basic concepts and general principles for safety of machinery. The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) plays the important role of coordinating standards work in Canada and ensuring Canada's input on standards issues in international standards organizations.
  • Member of Conestoga College Electrical Program Advisory Committee
    Industrial Safety Integration has been appointed by the Board of Governors to the Program Advisory Committee for Diploma, Certificate and Apprenticeship programs. Committees are composed of employers, practitioners and recent program graduates. The committees advise the Board of Governors with regard to the development of new programs, effectiveness of existing programs and community acceptance of College programs.

Industrial Safety Integration also promotes integration of occupational health and safety by providing workshops and seminars for educational institutions and industry associations.
