CIRSMA™ can be licensed with either a fixed or floating license. These two license types provide a flexible licensing suiteable for small to large companies.
Floating licenses allow a company to install CIRSMA™ on many PCs and only consume licenses when the application is used on a PC for a particular module. This allows many users to share a pool of licenses.
How Does Floating Licensing Work?
The floating license management application must be installed on a machine that is constantly running in your organization. Floating licenses can be shared over a WAN which is in the same time zone where the license server and client applications are installed. A license file is provided from Industrial Safety Integration which contains licenses purchased by your organization. When CIRSMA™ is installed the user can enter the floating license server host name during registration of the application.
When CIRSMA™ is started the application communicates with the Floating Licenses Server and by default checks out a view license. Depending on the modules used in the application, licenses will be checked out once that module is accessed. The license is not checked back into the Floating License Manager until the screen of the module is closed or the application is exited. If all licenses are checked out on the license server the client application (CIRSMA™) will display an error that it is unable to check out a license. If network communication is lost between the server and the client the client application will not be able to check out new licenses. Existing checked out licenses will be automatically checked back into the server every 15 mins once communication is lost with the client. Once network communication is established the client applications will validate all licenses and re-checkout licenses which were automatically checked in by the server.
